KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan held the seminar on the topic “Drama, Aaj Aur Kal” to discuss the changing trends in the TV drama stories that air every day.
Legendary actor Talat Hussain along with famous playwright Seema Ghazal and others participated in the seminar.
Talat Hussain while addressing to the audience, said that eastern values have always been so strong that the West used to aspire from. But now with the influx of new generational thoughts it has transformed the ‘taste’ of the viewer. A viewer wants to see the content that entertains them.
“Drama is the reflection of society”. It is used to be our heritage that we maintained decorum, delicacy but still touched the issues that also used to exist at those times. Today’s problem is more quantity and less quality work.
Whereas senior writer Seema Ghazal disagreed with this and emphatically said that “we must admit the fact that today’s generation knows much better things. They are fully equipped and take drama production professionally”.
The seminar was concluded with a question- and-answer session, participated by the audience.
