Country comes first, then any individual or institution: Gen Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said army would continue to contribute towards national security during his visit to Baloch Regimental Center in Abottabad, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the ISPR, the army chief reiterated his vision for better Pakistan where nothing takes precedence over country. "County comes first then any individual or the institution," he said during his interaction with officers and recruits undergoing training at the centre.

The COAS laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to martyrs of Baloch Regiment who laid their lives for the defence of the motherland.

"COAS expressed pleasure and honour to be at home of Baluchis. He said that he has very special attachment with Baloch Regiment being second generation officer as his father was also an officer from Baloch Regiment"

The army chief was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza upon his arrival the centre.
