KARACHI: An-anti terrorism court on Monday declared Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain absconder in a case that was filed against him for inciting violence on August 22 last year.
The ATC conducted hearing of five cases relating to events of August 22 of which two were lodged at the Artillery Maidan Police Station, according to Geo News.
The court also issue nonbailable arrest warrants for MQM-Pakistan leaders Farooq Sattar and Amir Khan.
The MQM virtually split into two groups following Altaf Hussain’s speech on August 22 which led to an attack on a private television channel.
The party faced a massive crackdown following the speech and its headquarters in Karachi’s Azizabad area of the city was also sealed.
