ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) rejected references filed against PTI chief Imran Khan and Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen as non-maintainable.
A five-member bench of the ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard the references filed by PML-N last August.
The Speaker National Assembly had forwarded them to the ECP.
Hinting at challenging the verdict in high court, PML-N MNA Danyal Aziz said they have the right to file an appeal in the court against the decision of the election commission.
PTI’s Naeemul Haq, declared this as victory of the truth and accused the NA Speaker of supporting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
