RAWALPINDI: As many as 26 suspects were arrested in Punjab during operations jointly carried out by paramilitary troops, police and intelligence agencies, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army.
According to the statement, the raids were part of operation Raddul Fasad, a drive recently launched by the army to expedite action against terrorists.
"Joint search operations were conducted by Punjab Rangers, police and intelligence agencies in DG Khan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Attock, Hassanabdal, Narowal, Shakargarh and Rajan Pur," said the statement.
The ISPR said 11 Afghan nationals were among those arrested in raids.
It said weapons , ammunition, computers, IED , suicide jacket and other material was seized in the operations.
