PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has yet to release funds that the provincial police department sough for security of staff to be deployed for population Census and other expenses.
According to Geo News, the police had sought Rs502.5 million for security, food and transportation exepenses for police and the paramilitary troops.
Police authorities said the 16,000 police and FC troops would be deployed in the first phase and 15,000 in the second phase of the census.
Pakistan is preparing for its first census in 19 years that would begin tomorrow (Wednesday).
