KARACHI: Karachi police on Monday appeared to have resolved the mystery that revolved around over 30 rare incidents of robberies in the metropolis that took place between 2015 and 2017.
After robbing the meat shops of cash, the bandits used to take away as much quantity of meat as they could.
The police arrested three suspects in connection with the robberies and produced them before the media with their faces covered.
A senior police official told reporters that the suspects were residents of Liaquatabad area of the city and worked as butchers in the past.
He said one of the accomplices was still at large. Responding to a question, the official said the chief aim of the robbers was getting their hands on money but they also used to take away meat to celebrate their successful robberies.
He said robbers might have been tempted by meat since they had worked as butchers and knew about the quality of meat.
Speaking to Geo News, one of the suspects said he was forced to join the group of robbers by one of the gang members, who apparently remains at large.
He also claimed that he only got rupees 1000 to 1500 after each robbery.
