LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said terrorism, extremism and enemies of Pakistan were defeated with the successful holding of the Pakistan Super League Final in Lahore.
Addressing a press conference, he thanked army chief, prime minister, interior minister and foreign players who came to Pakistan to play the final.
He announced to dedicate the final of the PSL to the martyrs of security forces and those lost their lives in recent militant attacks in Pakistan.
He said entire nation displayed unity and brotherhood on Sunday.
The Punjab chief minister also criticised "immature friends" for opposing his decision to hold the final of the cricket tournament in Lahore, without naming anyone.
"Pakistan won in Gaddafi stadium while terrorists and extremists lost yesterday," he said.
