Panama Leaks case: SC seeks evidence of London flats transfer

ISLAMABAD: Questioning the court proceeding today, the counsel of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif sons, Salman Akram Raja said it's impossible now to present 45-years-old record before the court.

Can the bench reach a decision without investigations into the matter, he asked.

The apex court resumed the hearing on Wednesday after almost two weeks, when on January 31 (the last hearing), Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed was hospitalized for chest pain and the case was put-off indefinitely.

The counsel argued that it is proven that the properties in question were not owned by Sharif Family in 1999, Al-Thani Family purchased these flats between 1993 and 1996 and handed over the bearer certificates to Hussain Nawaz in January 2006. Minerva was given these certificates in July 2006.

On this, Jutice Azmat Saeed sought evidences of property transfer to Sharifs. Where are the proofs, he asked from the counsel.

Responding to another query regarding an investigation by former interior minister Rehman Malik into financial matters Sharif Family, Salman Raja said the minister conducted inquiry in his personal capacity while was suspended from the office and leaked it to media, adding that the said report has no legal value as well.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till February 16.
