Madina: Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday visited Madina, Islam’s second holiest city, to pay his respect at the Rozae-Rasool (PBUH), according to Geo News.
The army chief offered Nawafil in Masjid Nabawi, the Prophet’s Mosque, and was due to leave for Makkah to perform Umrah.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the army, said General Bajwa met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud on Sunday.
“The Saudi king and the Army Chief agreed that both the countries share great history of cordial relations and deep spirit of brotherhood which has transformed into an enduring partnership,” the ISPR statement said.
During the meeting, it was also acknowledged that both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are vital players for regional stability.
Gen Bajwa also held a meeting with Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammad bin Salman to discuss matters related to mutual interests and bilateral security cooperation.
