ISLAMABAD: The dead body of renowned religious preacher and naatkhwan Junaid Jamshed has finally been identified. This has been confirmed by deputy commissioner Islamabad Mushtaq Ahmed here on Monday.
He said that the body was identified from a history of his teeth and an x-ray of his face.
Junaid was one of the passengers of the ill-fated PK-661, which crashed at Havelian as it was making its way from Chitral to Islamabad. He was killed in the tragic air crash which killed 47 passengers aboard the aircraft.
The religious preacher was travelling along with his wife Neha Junaid who was also identified earlier on Monday. Her body was shifted to DHQ Rawalpindi.
According to family sources, Neha's funeral prayer will be offered in Lahore.
Junaid Jamshed's body will be handed over to his relatives who will take it to Karachi.
His brother Humayun Jamshed stated that the funeral prayer would be performed at Moeen Khan Cricket Academy ground in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Tuesday.
