Doctor shot outside PIMS hospital passes away
ISLAMABAD: Dr Shahid Nawaz, who was injured after being shot outside the federal capital’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital by unidentified miscreants on February 14, passed away on Friday.
According to VC PIMS Prof Javed Akram, Dr Nawaz was kept on ventilator after receiving bullet wounds earlier in the month.

ISLAMABAD: Dr Shahid Nawaz, who was injured after being shot outside the federal capital’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital by unidentified miscreants on February 14, passed away on Friday.
According to VC PIMS Prof Javed Akram, Dr Nawaz was kept on ventilator after receiving bullet wounds earlier in the month.
The family of Dr Nawaz had demanded of the government to transfer him abroad for better medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief over Dr Nawaz’s demise in a condolence message to his family.
Condemning the firing incident, he directed the concerned authorities for swift action to thwart such incidents in the future. PM Sharif also directed that better security arrangements are ensured at hospitals, schools and other public places.
