LAHORE: International and domestic flights were diverted to Karachi and Sialkot due to dense fog in Lahore and its adjacent areas.
Civil Aviation Authority late on Thursday night closed Allama Iqbal International Airport till 10:00 A.M Friday due to thick mist in the city. The airport will resume flight operations after visibility improves.
Due to closure of the Lahore airport, over 20 domestic and international flights are affected.
Several flights were diverted to Karachi and PIA’s flight PK-204 was rerouted to Sialkot.
Also, road traffic has been suspended on Lahore-Pindi Bhattiya section of the Motorway on ground of zero visibility.
Motorway police have advised people to use G.T Road instead Motorway. They also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights.
Motorway police have also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
