KARACHI: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) pilot refused to operate an ATR-42 aircraft which was to fly from the Jinnah International Airport to Mohenjodahro, an archeological site in Sindh, citing a fault in one of engines, Geo News reported day after an air crash involving the same aircraft killed all 47 people on board.
The TV channel did not name the pilot. According to aviation rules pilots couldn't be forced to operate faulty aircraft.
A Pakistan International Airlines plane crashed Wednesday on a domestic flight from Chitral to Islamabad, killing all 47 people on board. Former famous Pakistani singer Junaid Jamshed, his wife Nahya, and Deputy Commissioner Osama Ahmed Waraich were also among the passengers on the ill fated plane.
