LAHORE: A Lahore-bound PIA flight from Abu Dhabi landed safely after it was hit by a bird moments before landing, Geo News reported on Thursday, a day after a plane crash killed 47 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to reports, the plane was preparing for landing at the altitude of 200 feet when a bird hit its screen. No damage to the aircraft was reported. The Pakistan International Airlines has drawn strong criticism after the crash involving ATR aircraft with opposition leader in National Assembly claiming that all the six ATR aircraft in PIA fleet were not fit for the flaying.
The air crash also resulted in death of iconic figure Junaid Jamshed who was returning from Chitral to Islamabad with his wife. The bodies were burned beyond recognition and DNA testing was being carried out to identify the victims of the crash.
