Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to be the next Chief Justice of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: According to a notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice, Mr. Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will be the next Chief Justice of Pakistan after Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali retires.
The notification, issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Wednesday, stated that effective Dec 31, 2016, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will assume the roles and responsibilities of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

The incumbent Chief Justice, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, will retire on Dec. 31, 2016.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar is the senior-most judge of the apex court.
