Customs, police personnel rush to pick up liquor bottles as soon as higher officials depart
KARACHI: After the Customs Collectorate were done disposing off large quantities of liquor, Sindh Police and Pakistan Customs personnel could be seen trying to grab bottles from the dump, on Tuesday.
Confiscated bottles of liquor were disposed off by the Customs Collectorate Port Qasim on Tuesday afternoon. As soon as the activity was done and higher officials departed from the site, local police officials and Customs personnel hastily grabbed bottles of liquor which were not destroyed during the operation.
Uniformed officials can be seen in the footage, sifting through the dump in an attempt to pocket as many liquor bottles as possible.
Officials destroyed 6850 bottles of high-quality liquor and 604 beer cans at the ceremony, read a Customs press statement. The operation was witnessed by representatives from different enforcement agencies and media.
