QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti Monday said that mastermind of August 8 Hospital Quetta carnage and four other terrorists have been killed in security forces operation carried out in Huramzai area of Pishin district.
Addressing a press conference at Chief Minister House, he said that intelligence agencies provided information that the suicide bomber who exploded himself at Civil Hospital Quetta on August 8 prepared at a hideout of Tehreek-e-Taliban in Huramzai area of Pishin district.
Following tip-off, security forces launched search operation in Huramzai area of Pishin district which led to exchange of fire between the armed men and the personnel of law enforcement agencies, he said.
Bugti said that the mastermind along with his four other terrorists was killed in Hurmazai gun battle.
The mastermind of Sandeman Civil Hospital Quetta was identified as Jahangir Badini, he said.
He said that two suicide jackets and heavy cache of weapons were also seized from the site.
Bugti said that two police personnel suffered gunshot wounds in shootout and added that condition of one injured cop was critical.
He said that Jahangir Badini was mastermind of Civil Hospital tragic incident which claimed lives of lawyers and journalists.
Home Secretary Akbar Harifal and IG Police Balochistan Ahsan Mehboob were also present.
