ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday said democracy could not flourish without well functional local bodies. "Local bodies also served as nurseries for providing trained and well versed leadership at the provincial level and later at the national level," he said while chairing a meeting of the provincial leaders of PML N Punjab at the Prime Minister House.
The political leaders of PML N briefed the Prime Minister about the elections of mayors and deputy mayors after the local body elections in the province, a press release said.
