LAHORE: The Basant Committee has given the go ahead to celebrate the festival in certain parts of the city, according to Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood.
According to details, the Basant Committee gave the green signal to celebrate Basant festival, which will be held next year in February. Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood said that the festival will be celebrated in certain areas of Lahore in the month of February, before proper arrangements are made.
Basant festival is celebrated by people traditionally by flying kites in Lahore, who celebrate the onset of Spring season. However, many people have lost their lives as the thread used to fly these kits is made of glass, which has often injured and killed people.
