CM in action: Murad fumes at officials for being absent from duty

KARACHI: CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah paid a surprise visit to the new Secretariat on Friday and expressed his displeasure at the absence of senior officials as well as secretaries from duty. 

According to details, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah paid a surprise visit to the new Sindh Secretariat and checked offices of secretaries from the first floor to the seventh. He checked the attendance of senior officials as well as secretaries. He fumed at those who were absent from duty and urged them to pull their socks. He directed relevant personnel to take action against officials who were absent from duty at the Sindh Secretariat. 

Murad also chaired a meeting to discuss development projects. During the meeting, he expressed anger at officials for not performing as per the expectations of the people. 

"Gutters are overflowing in Saddar and its surrounding areas. For God's sake, perform your duty," said Murad Ali Shah. "People are looking towards us and they are right in expecting us to deliver," he said. 

Murad Ali Shah said that he would support the mayor of Karachi and DMCs in cleaning up the city. 

"We all have to join hands to clean this city," he said. "I will extend cooperation to the mayor. It is nice to see that he has started work on the 100 days cleaning campaign," he added. 

However, Murad said that no one could run away from his or her responsibilities by claiming that they were not being granted adequate powers or rights.
