Professional rivalry led to murder of stage actor Kismat Baig: Police
LAHORE: Police on Thursday claimed to have ascertained motive behind the murder of stage actress Kismet Baig a week after gunmen pumped a dozen bullets into her in the broad day light in Harbanspura area of the city.
The actress had died at a hospital where she was shifted after the attack.
"A fellow actress is involved in the murder. The motive of the murder was professional rivalry," Geo News quoted police officials as saying. "Suspects will be arrested within 24 hours," said SSP investigation Mushtaq Sukhera.
Geo News reported that the police interrogated Baig’s secretary Ali Afsar Butt, former husband Rana Faheem, gunman-driver Ibrahim Pasha, Faisalabad resident Imran Butt and her fellow actress Mahnoor during the course of investigation.
