RAWALPINDI: Indian shelling across the LoC caused the martyrdom of ten Pakistani civilians and caused injury to several others, including children, on Wednesday.

Three soldiers also embraced martyrdom due to Indian shelling.

India violated the ceasefire agreement between both countries yet again when it started shelling across the Line of Control, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Indian shelling targeted a passenger vehicle and an ambulance that caused the martyrdom of ten Pakistani civilians at Neelum Valley.

Pakistani troops responded to the Indian aggression and both sides are currently trading fire across the Line of Control. Indian border security forces targeted Bagh, Shahkot, Jora, Battal, Karela, Baghsar and Tatta Pani sectors.

Local administration official Sardar Waheed said firing was continuing, preventing ambulances from reaching the scene.

"Indian troops targetted a civil Bus near LoC (the Line of Control) in Neelam (sic) valley," the military said in an emailed statement. In a separate statement it said that "intense firing" was ongoing.

"The death toll in the bus firing is nine now," Neelum Valley police chief Jamil Mir told AFP.

India has resorted to violating the ceasefire agreement across the LoC since several months now, escalating tensions between both nuclear-armed nations. On Sunday, Pakistan handed over a dossier that contained evidence of Indian violations across the Line of Control to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan, who met with the senior Pakistani leadership at the General Headquarters.

India had claimed yesterday that Pakistan's security forces were involved in the killing of three Indian soldiers, mutilating one of them. Pakistan's Foreign Office had denied the allegations and claimed that it was India who was constantly violating the ceasefire agreement across the LoC.
