KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday declared the appointment of Adviser to the Chief Minister on law and order, Murtaza Wahab, as illegal and ordered him to leave the post.

According to details, the court stated that Murtaza Wahab did not have the proper expertise regarding law nor the required experience. Hence, the appointment of Murtaza Wahab as Adviser to the Chief Minister on law and order was termed illegal by the Sindh High Court.

The decision was made by the Sindh High Court as it conducted a hearing of the petition filed by Advocate Fareed Ahmed Dayo against the CM’s adviser Murtaza Wahab. The petitioner had challenged the grant of ministerial status to an adviser. The petitioner had stated that an adviser could only support the Chief Minister and not run a ministry by himself.

Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui is the son of former PPP leader Fauzia Wahab. He was appointed as the Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on law and order by Syed Qaim Ali Shah in April 2015.
