Houston: Pak Consul General lauds work of NGO run by Pakistani Origin doctors

HOUSTON:  Consul General of Pakistan in Houston Aisha Farooqi has said that facilities like Hamara Clinic is very much needed in Pakistan, which is busy in bridging health services vacuum in remote backward areas in the country.

She was addressing an annual gala reception for Hamara Clinic Foundation hosted by local Pakistani origin doctors in Houston. She said that providing health services to far off areas of Pakistan and raising funds for these services is commendable.

She said that the way Hamara Clinic is helping people of Pakistan and government in provision of services to far flung areas. She observed a moment of silence in solidarity with victims of Khuzdar suicide attacks.

Dr. Arshad Umar, Dr. Tariq Shahab, Dr. Asim Shah, Dr. Asif Qadeer, Dr. Ameen Kareem, and MS. Mahak Saad also addressed the event. The participants shed lights on the purpose and functions of Hamara Clinic in provision of medical services to remote rural areas in Pakistan. Hospitals built by the organization are in places where average population is living below poverty level. 

Famous Pakistani playback singer and vocalist Alamgir presented his popular songs at the end of the evening.
