GUJRANWALA: the Counter-Terrorism Department conducted an operation in the wee hours of Saturday and killed 5 alleged militants. Three accomplices of the militants took advantage of the darkness and managed to flee from the police officials.
According to the CTD spokesperson, eight militants were inside a house in Gujranwala's Wapda Town area, planning a terrorist activity. As CTD officials raided the house, the alleged militants opened fire to which the security officials responded. CTD officials managed to gun down five alleged militants of the eight, as three managed to escape.
Two rifles, two hand grenades, two pistols and explosive materials were obtained from the suspected terrorists sanctuary. The alleged militants belonged to a banned outfit.
Search for the alleged three militants who managed to flee from CTD officials is underway.
