KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Minority Affairs Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan said that on the special directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minority Affairs Department was distributing Rs. 20 million among four thousand needy persons, widows and special persons on the eve of Diwali.
This he said while talking to president Pakistan Bishop’s Council, Bishop Khadim, chairman Grunanak Khalasa Welfare Trust, Sardar Hari Singh and member Film Censor Board Sindh Ramesh B. Mana, who called on him on Friday at his office.
Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan appealed to Hindu community to celebrate Diwali with simplicity in sympathy with the families of those who lost their precious lives in Quetta Training School terrorist attack.
He also appealed to the community to organize special prayers for the Quetta martyrs and light candles to pay tribute to them.
He said that it was need of hour to promote interfaith harmony and brotherhood and added that Hindu community had always played important role in development, stability and progress of the country.
