KARACHI: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday visited the residence of slain Qawwal Amjad Sabri and handed over a cheque of Rs 10 million to the family of the deceased on behalf of the Prime Minister.
The amount was announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the family of the famous Qawwal who was gunned down in Karachi on June 22 this year.
Pervaiz Rashid said that the grant of Rs. 10 million was announced by the Prime Minister for the family of the slain Qawwal to help meet the academic expenses of Sabri’s children.
He said that the money cannot compensate for the precious human life but would provide resources for the completion of the education of Sabri’s children so that they could not face any difficulty in acquiring further education.
Ban has been imposed at the request of the police and will remain in effect till April 28
