RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed spoke with Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri via telephone and once again invited him to attend the November 2 rally, which is all set to take place in Islamabad to challenge the federal government's authority.
Sheikh Rasheed met with PAT members at Pakistan Awami Tehrik's Central Secretariat. Rasheed met PAT member Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and also spoke with Dr Qadri on the phone from London, inviting him to attend the Islamabad Lockdown protest on November 2.
Sources claimed that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri assured Sheikh Rasheed of his political and moral support but did not agree to participate in the anti-government sit-in protest which will take place in Islamabad.
The PAT spokesperson stated that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri assured Sheikh Rasheed of his moral and political support for the Islamabad protest but said that as regards to his participation in the protest, further talks would be held to discuss the matter.
