ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nafees Zakaria said that unprovoked Indian shelling across LoC was threatening peace between the two countries.
"Pakistani forces responded in a befitting manner to Indian shelling across the Line of Control," he said. "India violated the ceasefire agreement by resorting to unprovoked aggression," he added.
Nafees Zakaria said that Indian shelling took place at Chuprar and Harpal sectors. Indian shelling commenced at 11: 35pm on October 23, said the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Peace is under threat from Indian shelling across the Line of Control," he said. "The Indian shelling targeted civilian population in Pakistan," he added.
India and Pakistan have traded fire frequently ever since relations deteriorated between both nuclear-armed states. The Uri attack, which took place on September 18 2016, heightened tensions between both states.
