KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies late on Saturday rounded up five suspects during search operations in different areas of Karachi.
Rangers conducted a search operation in Karachi's Azizabad area and took three suspects into custody. These three persons were said to be affiliated with a political party.
A search operation was also launched in the city's Pak colony area in which two suspects were arrested. The suspects, Nawaz and Salman, were moved to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
Karachi, a city of over 20 million, has long being plagued by terrorists and criminals. These miscreants have paralysed the megapolis on occasions in the past that eventually forced the government to launch a full-fledged crackdown in September 2013.
Since then, the city has witnessed a sharp decline in crime. Hundreds of terrorists and criminals have been apprehended, while some eliminated in encounters with the law enforcement.
The law enforcers, however, continue to conduct search operations in different areas to neutralize any potent threats to city's peace.
