ISLAMABAD: PTI chief Imran Khan and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif once again indulged in a war of words, as the latter accused the former of siphoning funds from Shaukat Khanum cancer hospital into offshore companies.

Khawaja Asif slammed Imran Khan and alleged that the PTI chairman had been transferring funds from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital (SKMH) into his offshore companies.

"Even a thief leaves hospitals alone and that too, established in the name of his own mother," he said while speaking to media.

PTI chief Imran Khan was not pleased with Asif's accusation and slammed the federal minister for hurling accusations without evidence.

"He is a shameless person. Even during wars, hospitals are spared," said the PTI chairman. "PML-N is in the government since the past few years now. Why don't they expose us if we have done something wrong?" said Imran.

This is not the first time that Imran Khan and Khawaja Asif have had a verbal spat. Last year when PTI returned to the National Assembly after its sit-in protest movement, Khawaja Asif had urged Imran Khan and PTI MNAs to have some shame and dignity, a phrase which became quite popular ever since.

Khawaja Asif also had a verbal confrontation with PTI MNA Shireen Mazari a few months ago, when during a parliamentary session, he referred to her as a 'tractor trolley'. Mazari demanded Asif apologize for his rude and offensive remarks, something which the Defence Minister refused to do.
