KARACHI: Police conducted a search operation in the city's Manghopir area, arresting 7 suspects and taking 47 persons into custody late Monday night.
According to Manghopir SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai, the search operation was conducted in the area after information was received of criminal elements being present in the vicinity. TTP Swat commander Gul Nawab was arrested during the search operation. The suspect was wanted for activities linked to terrorism and for the supply of weapons.
Six more suspects were arrested by police. During a door-to-door search, 47 persons were taken into custody by police who were later shifted to a police station.
On the other hand, police and Rangers conducted joint operations in Central District Karachi areas Kausar Niazi colony, Shadman Town and Khawaja Ajmer Nagri. The joint search operation was conducted after a cracker attack on an Imambargah to arrest the suspects of the attack. However, no suspect was arrested.
