LONDON/KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London on Friday announced a new 12-member interim Rabita Committee, according to Geo News.
Sources told Geo News that Nadeem Nusrat will be the convener of the main decision making body of the party which has faced large scale desertions in ranks and files after Altaf Hussain's August 22 speech. The decision came a day after London police decided to drop money laundering case against Mr Hussain.
The sources said that a formal announcement on formation of a new Rabita Committee was expected shortly.
They said committee would comprise MQM members who recently resigned from their membership of the assemblies.
Ishaq Advocate, Amjadullah, Professor Zafar Aijaz, Nadeem Ehsaan, Mustafa Azizabadi, Momin Khan Momin, Kunawar Khalid Younus and others are expected to be appointed as members of the Rabita Committee.
