Pakistani journalists for release of Bollywood films starring Pak actors
KARACHI: Unlike most of Indian journalists who have called for a ban on bollywood movies featuring Pakistani male and female actors in the wake of rising tensions between the two countries, Pakistan's senior journalists think the Indian films starring Pakistani actors should be released in Pakistan.
Answering rapid fire questions in Geo's Report Card program, political commentators Mazhar Abbas, Imtiaz Alam, Air Marshal (retd) Shehzad Chaudhry and Hafeezullah Niazi said the movies should be released in Pakistan.
The show took an interesting turn when Imtiaz Alam jokingly said there should be free of cost shows in Pakistan of the "good movies". Rabia Anum, host of the popular current affairs show, however, suggested that the cinema owners might have some reservations over the proposal.
Saleem Khan Saafi satirically said Pakistanis have already had so many fun-packed political movies playing in the country in the form of dharnas and other events and they won't care much about which movie is hitting the cinemas from across the border.
