KARACHI: As many as two people were killed and three were injured in armed clashes in different parts of the city on Tuesday.
According to police, an armed conflict took place in the city's Pak Colony area, in which two armed groups exchanged fire. One person was killed while one other was injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, another person was shot to death while resisting robbery. Another was injured in a firing incident which took place in the city's Garden area.
The situation has been tense in the city as 9th and 10th Muharram dates approach, during which foolproof security measures have to be adopted for mourners who carry out rallies and processions in honour of Imam Hussain (A.S).
