ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has refused to attend the global conference going to be held in India next month.

In a letter he wrote to the Indian Supreme Court he said that in the present conditions he could not attend the meeting.

The Chief Justice was invited by his Indian counterpart to attend the conference from 21st to 23rd of next month.

The refusal was made due to tense situation between the two countries.

Tensions have soared high between the two nuclear-armed neighbours over Occupied Kashmir and an attack on the Indian army's brigade headquarters in Uri, which left 18 Indian soldiers dead.

Two Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom when Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday morning, the ISPR confirmed.

In retaliatory firing by Pakistani forces in response to Indian aggression at the Line of Control 14 Indian soldiers were killed, sources said on Thursday.
