LAHORE: PTI chief Imran Khan on Thursday slammed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Singh Modi for deliberately worsening ties with Pakistan to deflect the world's attention from the human rights violations being committed in occupied Kashmir.

Speaking at Geo News' program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, Imran said that if Pakistan and India resolve their issues peacefully, then the whole region would benefit. "In order to appease the rightist elements in India, Modi has undertaken a hostile action," he said.

Imran Khan further said that if he was the Prime Minister, Pakistan would never be isolated in the world. The PTI chief said that Nawaz Sharif had invited Modi over to Pakistan since he was a personal friend of the Indian premier.

"Pakistan is slowly being isolated in the world since the past three years," said Imran. "Nawaz Sharif cannot withstand pressure," he said.

Imran said that when he had met Modi, he had told the Indian premier that if he would try to establish peace with Pakistan, certain elements would oppose it. Imran said that he had opposed corruption and raised his voice against those who had come to power in Pakistan.

He said that the biggest blunder committed by Pakistan was to join the American-led war on terror.

"I say the same thing even till today. We should never have become part of the American war on terror," said Imran.
