LONDON/KARACHI: Senior member of MQM London, Wasay Jalil, tweeted on Tuesday that there was nobody who could replace MQM founder Altaf Hussain, whether it be former army chief and ex-President Pervez Musharraf or anyone else.
In his tweet, Jalil also included a joint statement which contained statements from him, Muhammad Ashfaq, Mustafa Azizabadi and Qasim Raza. It was said in the joint statement that rumours of MQM leadership being passed over from Altaf Hussain to Pervez Musharraf was a joke and had no truth to them. In their joint statement, they said that scores of MQM workers had sacrificed their lives at the call of one leader for the rights of Muhajirs.

The joint statement issued from London also said that Altaf Hussain was, is and will always remain the founder and leader of MQM. It also said that a person with the aid of the establishment, could become a fake leader on paper but would never be able to live on in the hearts of the masses.
