If govt exercises force, we will shut down Lahore: Faisal Vawda
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf's senior leader Faisal Vawda said on Tuesday that if the government resorted to using force against participants of the Raiwind march, then PTI would close Lahore.
Arriving in Lahore ahead of PTI's September 30 Raiwind march, Faisal Vawda spoke to media personnel at the airport and warned PML-N workers of assaulting his party workers.
"PML-N's goons have threatened to break the legs of our people but I want to warn them. If they resort to violence, we will go even further," he said.
Faisal Vawda said that if the government resorted to bullying and violence then PTI would shut down Lahore. Faisal further stated that if PTI didn't take to the streets, then those in power would resort to making shoes out of the public's skins.
"But we will not let them oppress the people anymore," he said.
PTI plans to hold a protest demonstration at Raiwind on September 30 against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. PTI has decided to take out the protest after negotiations between the government and opposition on the terms of reference regarding the judicial commission which will investigate the Panama Leaks controversy, failed.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has boasted that the rally would be a gigantic one.
