Farooq Sattar predicts victory for MQM Pakistan in 2018 elections
KARACHI: MQM Pakistan chief Dr Farooq Sattar predicted his party would emerge as the single largest one from urban Sindh in elections 2018.
Presiding over a meeting of the district chairman and the vice-chairman on Tuesday, the former MQM Deputy Convener said that MQM Pakistan will secure votes and emerge victorious from the urban areas of Sindh, in elections 2018. Sattar advised the district chairman and vice-chairman to serve people with dedication despite the odds stacked against them.
"Despite lack of powers and resources, leave no stone unturned in serving the public with dedication and commitment," he instructed them.
Participants also deliberated upon the agenda of the next meeting of the KMC.
MQM Pakistan parted ways with party founder Altaf Hussian, when the latter delivered an anti-Pakistan speech on August 22 which instigated MQM workers to attack the office of a private news channel. Farooq Sattar declared himself the head of the new party and dissociated MQM Pakistan from Altaf Hussain.
Detractors and critics of Farooq Sattar, which include PSP chief Mustafa Kamal, have called on MQM Pakistan parliamentarians to resign from the assembly and secure a fresh mandate from the people of Karachi.
