KARACHI: Sindh Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution, seeking investigation into Panama leaks allegations against the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The resolution was presented by ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the provincial assembly.
Senior Education Minister Nisar Khuhro said, “Panama leaks allegations should be investigated and the premier should launch this probe from his house.”
He said PPP was compelled to present this resolution in the provincial assembly.
Meanwhile, Sindh Assembly rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) resolution over Panama leaks after PPP opposed it.
Nisar Khuhro said, “PPP can’t support demand for disqualification of the Prime Minister without investigation.” The content of PTI’s Khurram Sher Zaman was inappropriate, he said.
PML-N lawmaker in the provincial assembly, Sorath Thebo strongly criticized PPP leadership over resolution.
