LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said Uri attack could be a backlash to Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Speaking to media after returning from New York, he said India has been reluctant to discuss its own barbarities in Kashmir but is quick to level allegations against Pakistan.
He said India has killed 108 people and blinded hundreds in occupied Kashmir and blamed Pakistan for the army base attack within 12 hours. “This is not reasonable,” he said.
He said New Delhi should have held an inquiry and waited for the findings of the investigations before hurling allegations.
Demanding an inquiry into the Indian atrocities in Kashmir, Sharif said enduring regional peace could not be achieved without resolving the issue of Kashmir.
The prime minister said no country in the world accepted the Indian propaganda about Balochistan.
Responding to a question regarding SAARC summit, he said Pakistan was making preparations for the event and hoped that all member states would attend the moot.
