KARACHI :A defiant Rao Anwar on Friday said he did nothing wrong by arresting Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan, castigating the Sindh government for his suspension without giving him an audience.
Unfazed by his removal, the SSP went on to declare the Sindh government’s decision a wrong move. “I don’t care if Sindh government is angry. Sindh Chief Minister was misguided to get me suspended” he said, rejecting the impression that he has been working at the behest of intelligence agencies.
“Khawaja Izharul Hassan is called chief of target killers. Even, chief minister cannot order his release…only a court order can set him free,” said the SPP, adding that instead of seeking Speaker's permission, he is informed only after a lawmaker is arrested.
"I attested Khawaja Izhar in the broad day light before media because he had cases registered against him. I think Farooq Sattar should also be arrested if he is facing cases,".
"They are a mafia, they have killed so many innocent people...they would do it in the future,too... we should salute our army for reducing their power," Rao Anwar said, without naming anyone.
When asked whether he had close links with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari, he said he wouldn't have faced suspension if he had association with the former president of Pakistan.
