Police raid MQM’s Khawaja Izharul Hassan house

KARACHI: Police on Friday conducted raid the house of MQM Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan in search of two suspects.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) Sohrab Goath for raiding the house of Khawaja Izharul Hassan, who is also opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.

SSP Malir Rao Anwar has confirmed police raid, however, he said police party led by SHO Sohrab Goath arrived in Buffer Zone area in search of Raees Mama and his accomplice.

Police on a tip-off conducted launched action in the street of Khawaja Izhar where they were informed the suspects were hiding in one house, causing raid there. However they were found there.

Police were not aware the house belongs to Khawaja Izharul Hassan at the time of raid, Rao Anwar added.

CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the raid and suspended SHO Sohrab Goth and asked IG Police A.D Khawaja to submit report over the incident.

Raees Mama is wanted in May 12 carnage besides other heinous crimes.

The raid was conducted at a time when Khawaja Izhar was meeting with CM Sindh at CM House.

Speaking to media, MQM leader alleged that police party harassed women of his family and searched the house.

Meanwhile, SSP Central they were not informed before raid.
