KARACHI: Police on Friday claimed that the ten suspects arrested from various parts of the city for burning vehicles, belonged to MQM.
According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, police conducted a raid at Karachi's Bhains Colony area and took into custody five suspects for burning buses. All five allegedly are workers of MQM and were arrested on charges of burning buses during the last couple of days.
Police on Friday also took into custody two suspects for torching buses in Karachi, from the city's Steel Mill area. The previous day, police had also taken into custody three suspects for torching vehicles in Karachi.
The vehicles had been torched in Landhi number 6, National Highway Manzil Pump, Landhi Sakhan Square, Napier, North Karachi and Federal B Area.
IG Sindh AD Khawaja had announced a reward of Rs 100,000 for anyone who could identify the assailants who had burnt the vehicles. CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah had held a meeting on Thursday with IG Sindh AD Khawaja and pressed him to take swift action against all those who were involed in such activities to disrupt the peace of the city.
