KARACHI: A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is being held today (Friday) under Mufti Munibur Rehman to sight moon of Zil Hajj.
Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department, Dr.Ghulam Rasul, has apologized to discuss prospect of moon sighting after receiving a letter from Mufti Munib. He refused to share the content of the letter and asked the journalists to approach religious affairs ministry in this regard.
According to Met Office , Zil Hajj crescent would be visible in Karachi after 40 minute of sunset. The DG Met Office said details of next 100 years of crescent sighting are available on Met Office’s website.
Mufti Munib also refused to discuss the issue and said in no other Muslim country the matter of moon sighting is criticized.
