ISLAMABAD: Overseas Pakistanis will be able to cast their votes to their favorite candidates through internet, sub-committee of Electoral Reforms Committee said Tuesday.
Convener of the Committee, Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid told media that voting of overseas Pakistanis is possible through internet.
He said the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has removed the reservations of the committee about casting of votes of overseas Pakistanis through internet.
The committee was also agreed to invite tenders for preparing software for the registration of overseas Pakistanis.
Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) numbers and National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) will also be inked during the registration process.
On polling day, the overseas Pakistanis will be allotted special secret codes for casting their votes.
Ballot paper will appear after submitting some secret code and answering secret questions.
The overseas Pakistanis will also cast their votes through prescribed telephone numbers.
One vote will be cast only through one mobile phone number.
