KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday rejected a petition filed by PTI's Faisal Vawda to stop the swearing-in ceremony of mayor-elect Waseem Akhtar.
Before this, speaking to media personnel at the Sindh High Court, Faisal Vawda had stated that a person who was involved in serious crimes and was imprisoned, was about to become the mayor of Karachi. Faisal had also said that the real issue was that Waseem Akhtar's leader, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, was a traitor.
In response to a question, Vawda had said that the real enjoyment one derived from a match, was from the last two balls of the last over. He had also said that MQM leader Farooq Sattar was complicit with the federal government in making a fool out of the people.
Waseem Akhtar is all set to take oath and become the new mayor of Karachi today.
