ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif met on Tuesday to discuss the load shedding situation in urban and interior Sindh.
Speaking to media personnel, Khawaja Asif said that during his meeting with the Sindh CM, he had assured Murad Ali Shah that he would try to solve the problem of load shedding in Sindh.
"During the meeting, the issue of load shedding in Sindh and interior Sindh came under discussion," he said. "The situation of electricity supply throughout the country is improving," he said.
Khawaja Asif said that the issue concerning payment of arrears would soon be resolved. Speaking on the issue, Murad Ali Shah said:-
"We had agreed on a lot of topics before as we," he said. "There's a minor difference of opinion on the issue of arrears," he said.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that the issue of arrears would soon be resolved and that the system in Pakistan required upgrades.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced earlier on numerous occasions and at numerous places that the federal government would eliminate load shedding across the country by the year 2018.
